All I Really Want In Life
By Saria Elhiber
All I really want is a quiet life,
one close to God and close to the land.
Where my routine consists of harvesting and dancing,
and an intimate relationship with the sun.
I want to be free and truly feel free.
A deep internal peace that everyone around me can even see.
I wish to be known for the way I love and the way I move,
that every word and touch that comes from is like a talk with the stars and a hug from the moon.
I wish my deep tiding were as pure as the sky blue,
and one look in my eyes can show you how fiercely I love you.
A soul is forever pure as long as you come back to your truth,
so coming back to myself means walking through the darkness too.
All I really want is a quiet life,
but I wish to be known too.
Where my routine consists of platonic dates and talking really late
and an intimate relationship with whoever’s my written fate.
I want to be free and truly feel free.
A deep internal peace that everyone around me can even see,
and for someone to stick around long enough to know me.
I wish to be known for my integrity and grace,
and even if I’m not your favorite person you will still embrace;
my deep tidings and shallow waves.
A human who expresses balance in every coming phase.
My truth is that I’m a pendulum and it is sometimes a nightmare…
but the more I feel the more I realize I’m just a woman who cares.
